I am having problems with the TS files that are saved to my hard drive. I am using "getatsc" to record and sometimes the TS files will be good but most of the time they seem to be corrupt in some way ...

One thing that I have descovered is that it is just the 1080i recordings that are not working for me. 480p ts files work fine in all those programs. Why would they be different?

Well, I can't seem to get anything working right for encoding these files. The main problem seems to be converting the transport mpeg file that is created by getatsc into a program stream mpeg file. ...

I got it working. I had TwinView enabled and when I disabled it, it worked. thanks for the xdpyinfo command. that was helpful.

Now I just have to figure out how to work with these captured files ...

I got my card yesterday and after a couple hours of messing around I have it working. I have
