Mythfrontend is only going to stutter if it can't process or get data. Being close to using all available memory isn't something you need to be too concerend with. Linux will buffer data in memory, ...

I have mythtv installed from CVS, good there. Could you give me an example of how you would do one of these two things....?

1.) set channel say... 8, to always use the pcHDTV card.

or

2.) as ...

I'm seeing this on a P3 as well.

ACPI/APM are completely disabled.

How often do you get this, what are you doing when it happens, etc? (anything to help debug the problem?)

There is a bug where if system resources are starved the pcHDTV card will get an ' irq bit mask cleared ' error and the card will stop passing data. This is partially related to buffer overrun errorr ...

I'll post the instructions later this week when I can edit it a little more. Myth does have some problems in that it has little tolerance for non-perfect streams. Fixing these is a matter of tracing ...
