Rusty,

You were right about seating the card! I opened up my computer and the card was not fully engaged into the motherboard. I pushed it in and "voila," it showed up in Linux!

I forgot to mention that I am using a HD-5500 card. It just seems like the drivers aren't making the /dev/xxx pointer that I need to access the video capture card.
