HD-5500 Causes Interference and Static in Graphics and Sound

I think the HD-5500 card is causing EMI interference in the PC. This only happens when the coax cable is plugged into the TV antenna reception port. It happens as soon as contact is made, and ends as soon as I unplug.

This causes static in the sound coming from the PC line-out. It also causes horizontal bars that scroll down the image on the screen. The interference is in the PC, affecting the integrated graphics and sound chips in the motherboard, which is a Asus K8V-MX.

It doesn't matter which PCI slot the HD-5500 card occupies. It doesn't seem to be between the antenna cable (actually, the cable company cable) and the cables to the display and speakers.

Any ideas?

Strangely, the sound static is happening even if the PC is turned off. The static begins just as the coax cable makes contact with the HD-5500 connector. And it ends just as I unplug the cable.

Does that make sense to anyone?

It sounds as if it may be a grounding issue, with your antenna or your PC.

If you are using a rooftop antenna, is it properly grounded? Is the outlet that the PC is connected to properly grounded?

It may also be bad coaxial cable. You need to use the quad shield RG-6 cable.

Can someone tell me if I have a problem or not? I have a MSI KT4V MB and it's not clear from reading the manual if the PCI slots are 2.2 compliant. I have properly compiled and installed the HD-3000 drivers and application software. I can get the tvtime NTSC tuner to work, but I don't get any signal strength at all for ATSC.
