Hi All,
How do I deal with my dual boot PC when Windows boots? Is there a driver to install just to keep Windows from alerting me that it has found new hardware? I am installing the HD-3000 board.
Thanks,
David |

You can install the windows drivers. They are on the CD for the HD-3000.
The up side is then you can also use the card when booted into windows. There is an application called Media Portal that will use your card for HDTV viewing and recording. |

Hey, thanks!
I installed the Windows Drivers and am following the instructions for testing using the Grphedt.exe. I can't get that to work. I don't have a cable plugged into the card, so I wonder if that is needed. The instructions say to select Antenna, but it is not working, so I am stuck for now. I will see about trying the Media Portal.
Thanks,
David |

Thanks! I installed Media Portal, but it does not find any TV channels even after the scan shows it found some channels. I wonder what else I can test? Maybe connect a video camera and try to record.
Thanks,
David |

Well, the weather channel works OK. I really like the UI, very cool!

Hi All,
Anyone have a video test I could get to test my system? So far, not much progress.
Thanks,
David |

Are you trying to tune in cable channels? I'm not sure how this works in MP.
When you set up MP, don't use the Wizard. Shut down the main program and run the Media Portal Setup program. Under the Television section, open capture cards and select your card, and open the Edit screen. There you will find an Autotune tab, scan for channels here. |

| There is one more thing about Media Portal that I forgot to mention. Use the last stable version - 0.2.2.0. The newer versions don't really support the USA's ATSC format yet. The devs are from Europe and can't easily test this format. |

OK, thanks! The scan finds some channels, but they are not added to the New TV Count. Maybe it is because of the version number as you said, but when I run the software, the version number does not appear.
Thanks,
David |

Also, I just checked the file I downloaded and it appears to be the stable version, MediaPortal_0.2.2.zip
Any other ideas?
Thanks,

Try deleting the card, then all the channels and channel groups. Then re-add the card and re-scan.
If you end up trying to re-install MP, make sure you delete the Team-Media Portal folder that is left after an uninstall.
For a better chance of getting help with MP, you should post your problem in the Media Portal forums. You can post in the HD-3000 thread that I started (Paul S), but that may get ignored. You're better off starting a new thread, with the problem as the thread title. |
