Hi, so far I have tried to get my HD-5500 to work on the following distros and still no success. Kanotix, Ubuntu, Suse, SabayonLinux, Knoppmyth, and Fedora. I've followed various guides and the only signal I've had was in winXP. If you have got this card working in HD mode please share how you did it or a link to a guide that works. Rolling Eyes

KnoppMyth R5E50 using the following guide at http://www.stoltenow.com/archives/2007/03/installing_knop.html

System:

Asus Av8 939
Amd 3700+
nVidia 7800
2GB ram
Audigy 2 (I haven't figured out the sound yet)

Fedora Core 4, 5, and 6 (All in the last two weeks)
Kernels 2.6.16,2.6.17,2.6.18,2.6.19,2.6.20 (SIGNAL STRENGTH!)
Athlon64 3400+
Nvidia MX4000

Using this guide for MythTV: http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php

And the end of this guide for the card setup: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Configuring_PCHDTV_card_for_ATSC

System performance sucks until the video decompression gets offloaded to the video card correctly. Then it just purrs at around 7 GB per hour.

THIS DOES WORK- I was frustrated at first until I found the guides and realized it was working the whole time.

had a working system for about a day, then i started getting these errors when starting the backend:

notice the DVBChan Warning, if anyone knows how to fix please let me know!

now only ATSC works and NTSC is either not working at all or the video is really bad with no sound. i found a link of the page listed above pretty interesting: link

it talks about remove and loading certain modules before starting mythbackend. i'm using ubuntu edgy, kernel 2.6.17-11, and the pchdtv drivers. also i used envy to install the latest nvidia drivers which almost completely eliminated any stutters while using xvmc, i only get a couple while the osd is display. here's envy

Do you get both ATSC and NTSC off the HD-5500?
