I have a PC that only has PCI-X expansion slots. The PCI-X spec claims to be backward compatible with PCI, except that it only supports 3.3V cards.

The HD5500 claims to be a universal PCI card (which I believe means that it can run on 3.3V or 5V PCI slots). Does anyone know if this card will work in a PCI-X slot?

I tried running a PVR-250 (which also has the correct card edge to fit into the PCI-X slot, cut outs for the 3.3V and 5V keys) but the system will not boot after installation. According to Hauppauge the board requires hardware modification to work in PCI-X.

Thanks

I will answer my own question:

The the HD-5500 will function correctly when inserted into a PCI-X slot.
