I have a mythtv setup with 2 pchdtv5500 cards and one pvr-350. After setup everything works fine. However after a restart, the order of the cards listed in dev/video0...video2 sometimes changes. I have to go into the backend setup and switch the device for the two cards affected.
So I end up leaving the system on all the time and never restarting.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This question has popped up in these forums before. I searched for it, but could not find it.

It involved making an entry to a config file, that specified the device associations. I don't know anymore than that , sorry.

I know that with soundcards you do something like this in modprobe.conf:

options snd_emu10k1 index=0
options snd_via82xx index=1

It depends on what flavor of Linux you're using. I had to setup some udev rules in Ubuntu to keep my pvr-150 and pchdtv5500 straight. Essentially it creates a symlink to something like /dev/pvr150, and then I point Myth to the /dev/pvr150.

Sorry I can't give more details - I did it a while ago and don't really remember where I found the info about it.
