I was reading the FC3 release notes and it says that the kernel sources are no longer included in the install. So I found them and downloaded them, but I still am unable to install the HD3000 driver. These are the errors I get

Code:
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.9-1.681_FC3smp/build SUBDIRS=/home/schome1/downloads/pcHDTV HD3000/HD-3000-CD-04/linux/FedoraCore2-Kernel-2.6-systems/drivers/FedoraCore2-HD3000-driver-rev-1.4 modules
make[1]: Entering directory `/lib/modules/2.6.9-1.681_FC3smp/build'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `HD3000/HD-3000-CD-04/linux/FedoraCore2-Kernel-2.6-systems/drivers/FedoraCore2-HD3000-driver-rev-1.4'.  Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/lib/modules/2.6.9-1.681_FC3smp/build'
make: *** [modules] Error 2

I have a P4 3.2ghz HT processor. Asus P4P800 motherboard, 1gig of RAM.
OS is Fedora Core 3.

It builds just fine for me. I'm not sure how because I didn't notice the lack of kernel until after I installed it Smile My system is pure rpm right now!

Here is what I have installed kernel wise:
Code:
$ rpm -qa | grep kernel
kernel-utils-2.4-13.1.39
kernel-2.6.9-1.667

I just untarred the CD4 from the website, moved into the right director and did make;make install
Code:
$ cd HD-3000-CD-04/linux/FedoraCore2-Kernel-2.6-systems/drivers/FedoraCore2-HD3000-driver-rev-1.4

I also found a post on here that talked about fixing the udev issue so that it auto made the /dev/dtv instead of just the video32

It looks like your link to the kernel source isn't configured correctly. You will see that error when make can't find a Makefile. The driver make is simply attepting to run your kernel makefile with the directory pointing to the driver location. This helps make sure things are configured correctly. Check ths link for /lib/modules/2.6.xxx/build and make dure it is pointing to your kernel sources.

On Fedora, the parts of the kernel source which are used to compile modules and such are already included in the core kernel package. There should be no need, under normal circumstances, to install the actual kernel source.
However, there might be exceptions...
