Recomended Linux DVR System?

I have 2 Dells (one AMD 64, the other Pent D) that I have tried installing Mythtv on using both Mythdora and | Mythbuntu. I have not been able to get Mythtv to work with either Dells. I've spent hours and hours trying to get them to work Sad

I did get Kaffeine to scan and watch TV (no audio) but not Mythtv in Mythbuntu.

Is there another Linux version that is easy to install and setup to work with the HD-5500?

All I would like to be able do is to record (via timer) and watch programs.

I have one of the first AMD 64 processor machines (ibuypower from 7-8 years ago?). I run mythbuntu 10.04 using the pchdtv 5500 card to watch OTA HD. It works fine. The only serious change I made was to dump an otherwise perfectly good video card and put in a cheaper Nvidia card. You might get a more helpful response if you detailed problems. Smile
