Regular Recording Failures with MythTV 0.25

I recently upgraded from MythTV 0.24 (0.24.2-26) Ubuntu 11.04 to MythTV 0.25 (0.25.2-19) Ubuntu 12.04 and now my HD5500 fails to tune intermittently, creating no recording file and locking up the card so all future recordings on that card are missed (recordings on other tuners continue, missed recordings are not rescheduled). Hours after the failed recording should have completed, the list of previous recordings still shows that card is recording even though it isn't. A reboot is required to free up the card and resume normal operation.

The problem usually occurs when 2 recordings are attempting to start on the same tuner (multirec=2), but it has also occurred with only 1 recording on that tuner. I've had several dozen such failures across 2 machines, and always on the HD5500. My LAN attached tuners (HDHomeRun and HDHomeRun Prime) have never experienced the problem on those same machines, so it appears to be limited to the HD5500.

I've dropped and reattached all tuners as suggested when upgrading to 0.25 with no improvement. I see nothing obvious in the backend logs other than reporting the missing file.

Anybody have any suggestions on how to diagnose this problem?

I take it this forum is dead. That's unfortunate.

I have the same issue when using 2 tuners.

my primary is the 5500
my secondary is a Hauppauge HVR-2250.

I noticed when both are recording the 5500 will sometimes fail to record.
now I also noticed that if the 2250 ends its recording and i delete the bad recording of the 5500, the next show up for the 5500 will record without an issue or without needing a reboot.

I wonder if it needs its own recording group.
