OK, first off I think the mythtv is the worst documented program ever. It has all sorts of nice features, but it doesn't give a lot about when it's not working...

Next, in mythtv I can't see my mouse pointer and while I can use the keyboard to navigate around I can't make a button "click" with the "Enter" key on the keyboard. The button goes down, but nothing else happens. This is really lame. So I found if I mouse over a button is changes shade so I have to mouse around blindly untill I happen to be over the button I want to click on and then click the mouse button. I'm I the only one with this problem? Because I don't see anyone else mention it.

Finally, I was able to scan channels and get things setup in "mythsetup", but the database has a default channel of "3" and that's not a valid channel. The frontend starts but then quits a few second later saying that it didn't get any data. The backend says it's has no "PIDS", but I check both inside mythsetup and in the mysql database "channel" table and there's lots of data there.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, but this has got to be one of the most complicated programs I've ever tried to setup.

Thanks in advance..
Rick.

"Enter" should go to the next window.. you're probably using an incompatible version of QT, search the mythtv mailinglist there is a thread with the verisons that work/don't.

"mythsetup" program which scans channels also allows you to setup the default channel; its on another menu that I cannot remember ATM.

Mythtv is not designed to be used with a mouse; itís made to navigate with a remote control via LIRC. Channel 3 is always the default channel if you don't specify a channel in the 'Input' section ( its the lower left button) in mythsetup.
