I've been trying ...
I got FC4, pcHDTV 3000, and a PVR250 (I've had MythTV running
on the PRV250 for over a year).
I can't get the pcHDTV to work!
It finds the card. It loads the firmware. But atscscan
generates bizarre results, cat /dev/dvb/adapter0/pvr0 blocks
forever with zero data read, and MythTV says there are no
PIDS, and no data from the devices.
BTW: I have Comcast basic cable service with HD.
Help?!?

| Are you sure /dev/dvb even exists? I'm having similar problems, I'm in the process of building the Myth system w/ FC4 (kernel 2.6.16-1.2108) for me there is no /dev/dvb... I have /dev/video0 (pvr-250) and /dev/video1 (pcHD3000) I've actually justed edited all references to /dev/dvb/ in all the dvb-atsc-tools .C files and replaced them with /dev/video1 - then make, make install - I'm not even sure that's the best way to go - Maybe someone can shed some light on that... |

You should be using the dvb drivers for the HD-3000.
Search the forum for "modprobe cx88-dvb".
A quick search got me this:
# modprobe -rv cx88_blackbird
# modprobe -rv cx88-dvb
# modprobe -rv cx8800
# modprobe -v cx88-dvb
This will load the dvb driver. You may need to do more to get it to automatically load at boot, but this is a start, to see if it works.
Also, select dvb in the MythTV setup. Selecting pcHDTV will use the old drivers. The dvb drivers are newer and being maintained. |
