It's been a long twisting road but I can now see HDTV!
This forum was a great help. I never could get the Air2PC 5000 to work.
The PCHDTV 3000 works fine in Mythtv and Xine-HD.

When I ran "make" on the patched Xine libraries I saw a message that no IR was found and Xine was not adding support for it. So the remote does not work in xine-hd. The ir control is on my PVR-350 card. I am guessing that perhaps this resulted from the fact I had not figured out how change the tveeprom.ko to a generic one that both cards could use.

Both cards now work and ir contol works in Mythtv.

I have removed software with YUM and installed it from another repos.

Do I need to remove the xine-hd before I can "make" it again?

If I just run "make" on my patched Xine libraries will the files be overwitten and upgraded to include IR?

I know this kind of a dumb question, but to remove the programs I compile with "make install" do you just delete them?

I'm guessing that to use YUM to manage a custom patched program one would have to download the libraries, patch, make, then build a rpm and install that with YUM. Probably a lot of extra work for one machine.

Thank for running such a helpfull forum
