After installing the kernel update 2.6.16-1.2069_FC4smp there is no sound. After kernel 2.6.15-1.1830_FC4sno I believe I lost QAM but the analog channels were still working. So are we going in reverse with the video tuner drivers?

Still need to modify the /etc/udev/rules.d/50-udev.rules to get dvd device permissions. Also need to modify /lib/modules/2.6.16-1.2069_FC4smp/modules.pcimap to move to move line
cx88-dvb 0x000014f1 0x00008802 0xffffffff 0xffffffff 0x00000000 0x00000000 0x0
above other cx88 lines so dvb device files get created.

So we have analog video but no sound. We get azap to lock to HD channels but cat /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 >test.mpg creates a 0 length file.

By the way it is not just the HD-3000 card and drivers having troubles. I did an RMA on a Haupaugg 500 card and the new card came back with different chips which means another driver update. Has anyone discovered the new magic?

Wish I had a solution, but I'm getting the same problem. Is there some trick I'm totally missing to getting sound with analog channels with the HD3000?
I've got Ubuntu 5.10, with the 3.6.12 kernel. I get kinda washed-out video on the analog channels, and I get the sound coming out of the jack in the rear of the card. But that's not what I want. I can patch it into my microphone, but that's still not quite right, because then the sound is playing all the time, even if I'm not watching TV in MythTV.
So anyway, does anyone have any solutions to this? I'm just seconding the opinion above, pretty much, but any help/hints would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like modules cx2388x v412 is getting loaded before cx2388x dvb. Still no HD though. I have not come up with a way controlling the module load order.

Analog audo works when(2.6.15-1.1833_FC4smp):
Mar 31 19:32:20 douglas kernel: Linux video capture interface: v1.00
Mar 31 19:32:20 douglas kernel: cx2388x dvb driver version 0.0.5 loaded
