Has xine-hd-lib been compiled with the hd-5500 setup? I finally got all the right modules loaded (I think!) and went to compile xine-hd and it errors out.

When running make I get the following:
Code:

input_dtv.c: In function `dtv_plugin_set_channel':
input_dtv.c:266: error: `VIDEO_MODE_ATSC' undeclared (first use in this function)
input_dtv.c:266: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
input_dtv.c:266: error: for each function it appears in.)
input_dtv.c: In function `dtv_plugin_get_signal':
input_dtv.c:576: error: storage size of 'vsig' isn't known
input_dtv.c:584: error: `VIDIOCGSIGNAL' undeclared (first use in this function)
input_dtv.c:576: warning: unused variable `vsig'
input_dtv.c: In function `init_plugin':

On a side note, dtvsignal gives me different results when run as root and regular user, take a look:
Code:

peemus@serenity ~ $ dtvsignal 32

Signal: 000 .

It seems wierd that when it can't open the device it gets a signal and when it can it doesn't get anything. It's the same with other chanels too, btw.

I wonder if there should be a xine-hd section under the HD5500 section. Like the HD-2000 / HD-3000 section. That's probably where this thread should be.

Not sure about your xine-hd issue, but I did have a permissions issue when using dtvsignal as root and user, my user didn't have access to correct group, yet it did not throw an error when trying with dtvsignal.

Thanks darkwire

I found this HowTo:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Setup_MythTV
and figured out I needed to add my user to the video group. Once I did that dtvscan and dtvsignal worked fine.

Now if only I knew how to configure this HD5500 in MythTV... Confused
