Hello Everyone,

Is there ANYBODY, who has the knowledge on how to get the new HD5500 card to work with 2.6.16-1.2133_FC5 & Nvidia GF6200. I have been struggling with this issue for 3 non stop days. Every time I install the card onto my Abit Mobo, & restart Linux, I get a PCI: Resource Error. I used the drivers that were issued with the card and followed there instructions, but it didn't elimate the problem. If i remove the card, the KDE environment starts normally, however, if I plug the card in it gives me a error & fails to lauch a GUI environment corrcetly.

PS: AnyOne know what the white input device attached to the card is for?

Just a thought.

When others had this sort of problem, moving the card to a different slot sometimes helped

Hello everyone,

Someone suggested I change Video Cards, and see what would happen. I installed a older model of a Nvidia card I had laying around(Geforce 4200). The Fedora 5 X-Server started with my (HDTV 5500 & GeForce 4200) with no problem. I'm still searching for a solution on how to get my Nvidia Geforce 6200 to work with my HDTV 5500 and Fedora 5.

I'm using kernel 2.6.16-1.2111_FC5

Update: After all this time I have discovered an answer to my solution. I isolated the problem by removing the pcHDtv5500 and plugging it into another computer, and using windows as a testing environment.

Problem: The problem occurs when you plug in the HDTV 5500 into your mobo and you get the error “PCI: error…” message in Linux, or get crappy video resolution in windows.

Solution: Thanks to "Citation4444" at

He suggested I change the AGP Aperture from the default 128M to 256M (BTW: I used a 6600 Geforce DDR 256 by NVDIA). Not quite sure why it worked, but maybe someone can enlighten me.
