im trying to install some firmware for my pcHDTV card. it says to put the files in /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/, but /usr/lib/hotplug does not exist.

This is a fresh install, and I'm trying to do things right this time. My old Gentoo box was getting kinda unruley after all the workarounds and hacks I let myself use. All that's different from a fresh install is I added some repositories (universe, multiverse, etc) and have updated to the lastest stable packages.

dmesg does not show anything for dvb or cx88. I'm running kernel "2.6.15-27-386" ... this is an AMD64 box, but I'm running 32bit Ubuntu to keep things simple for gaming and web plugins.

I would very much appriciate any help Smile

Thanks,
