Well - I've got a cable attached to my card now but I'm not getting any signal(or snr). I see several other people with similiar problems so I'll try and include all the info they've been asked for, but I don't see anyone reaching an 'aha' moment on this issue.

So far I've tried on the following kernels:
2.6.17-1.2187_FC5
2.6.18-1.2200.fc5

On the 2.6.17 I used video4linux-kmdl-2.6.17-1.2187_FC5-20060723-76.fc5.at. On the 2.6.18 I built the modules from the "Fedora Core 5 or Mandriva - only 2.6.17 Kernels Driver"(only thing that seemed to build) source provided from pchdtv.com. I haven't noticed any real difference in the dmesg or tool output for either so I'll use the 2.6.18 output below. I know it's a lot of information but hopefully the answer is in there somewhere.

I get the following in dmesg:

and before I go to bed. I pulled down the head from the mercurial repo for v4l-dvb. It appears to have built fine. rmmodded the loaded modules and tried to insmod the new ones. cx8800 worked fine, but cx8800-dvb complained of missing symbols.

not sure if this is of diagnostic importance but mythtv bombs out with the following from the backend:

Seeing the same symptoms I believe:

pcHDTV::GetSignal_v4l1(fd 13, input 12, v4l2): error(Invalid argument)

This is on a 0.20-fixes upgrade of MythTV.
Running a home-built: 2.6.18.2 kernel
Everything else for me seems to work. I can even get LiveTV out
of my HD-3000 card. It seems I just can't do any scanning of channels.
