Exception during boot with Fedora 5 Core

I get an exception while mythdora 3.1 is booting if I have either one (or both) of my pcHDTV-5500 cards in the system during boot. The exception occurrs in cx88_alsa. It looks like the cards are being detected as sound cards. Once the exception occurs, anything that attempts to interact with the sound system hangs.

I've included dmesg in the hope that someone will have an idea. Thank you.

I'm getting the same behavior here. I'm not sure what the correct solution is.

So far, I've tried removing the cx88-blackbird module. And I've tried rmmod cx88-alsa but it's always in use.

Following the crash, I'm able to boot but any time I try to access/configure my actual sound card things just sort of hang.

I managed to make some small amount of progress.

I added cx88-alsa to the modprobe blacklist (/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist).

Code:
blacklist cx88_alsa


Now I'm able to boot without a crash. After booting, if I try to modprobe cx88_alsa, then I'm able to see the crash again.

I'm still working out the kinks but this lets me boot properly and capture audio through a loopback cable to my soundcard (not the configuration I prefer).

Another thread (http://pchdtv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1466) says that cx88_alsa is what I want, but we'll need to get past the crashes first.
