Okay... I've followed all directions.. I never post on forums becasue I can usually figure the issues out... But this time I can't find anything anywhere for any reason, and I'm asking anyone, someone for HELP getting this card to actually work/install.

My first gripe is I don't see anything under any of the installation files for FEDORA CORE 4.

uname -a
Linux tv 2.6.13-1.1532_FC4 #1 Thu Oct 20 01:30:08 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Okay.. October 20 isn't BLEEDING EDGE, but so far it's newer than anything I've come across for drivers for the HD-3000.

Next, I downloaded the drivers and it says to extract and do a make, make install. No problem:

# make
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.13-1.1532_FC4/build SUBDIRS=/tmp/HD-3000-CD-04/linux/FedoraCore2-Kernel-2.6-systems/drivers/FedoraCore2-HD3000-driver-rev-1.4 modules

Oh, and for the heck of it

make install

install -d /lib/modules/2.6.13-1.1532_FC4/kernel/drivers/media/video /lib/modules/misc /lib/modules/2.6.13-1.1532_FC4/kernel/drivers/media/video/cx88
install -c tuner.ko /lib/modules/2.6.13-1.1532_FC4/kernel/drivers/media/video
install: cannot stat `tuner.ko': No such file or directory
make: *** [install] Error 1

Please someone tell me what's wrong. I followed the directions EXACTLY as they were given. Other than the fact I don't have Fedora Core 2 - I have Fedora Core 4. Are you telling me that I have to install an OLDER version of fedora to get this to work? Where are the core 4 drivers? Why does all this still say core 2? please help.

I admit i really DO SUCK at compiling and all that I know how to do is follow the instructions. If it doesn't work, I don't have a clue what to do... I've read through all the forums the best I can, but it's doing me no good. Either someone needs to provide me proper instructions for this card, or I don't have any choice but to attempt to return it for a refund or put it on ebay or something.

thanks

Also, with 2.0:

# make
ln -s . linux
ln -s . media
ln -s ./usr_hdrs dvb

The V4L drivers have been deprecated in favor of the dvb drivers that are now built into the kernel. You need 2.6.6 or earlier in order to build the V4L drivers.
