Im new to all of this. Reading the spec's for the hd2000. I looks like it is mono only, this cant be right, or can it? can the audio be routed through your soundcard for stereo output?

Just trying to figure out what I need. I have access to a new hd200 from a friend for $100 . wondering if the 3000 is worth the extra $70.

Wanting to build a htpc to tune and record OTA HD. and to record sd thats fed through it through my sat box.

Yes, the NTSC (analog) receiver on the HD-2000 is mono only. Fortunately that's unrelated to the digital (HD) part of the board! It's only an issue if you want to watch NTSC with it. Your satelite box probably has a stereo output that you can plug into the input of your sound card so that shouldn't be an issue.
