Now when I reboot and try to use modprobe, this is what happens:

Code:
Farmer frontends # modprobe cx88-dvb
FATAL: Module cx88_dvb not found.

And when I try to use insmod, here's what happens:
Code:
Farmer frontends # insmod /lib/modules/2.6.15-gentoo-r8/kernel/drivers/media/video/cx88/cx88-dvb.ko
insmod: error inserting '/lib/modules/2.6.15-gentoo-r8/kernel/drivers/media/video/cx88/cx88-dvb.ko': -1 Unknown symbol in module

...and dmesg goes nuts:
Code:
cx88_dvb: Unknown symbol cx8802_fini_common
cx88_dvb: Unknown symbol cx88_call_i2c_clients
cx88_dvb: Unknown symbol mt352_attach

The card seems to show up fine via lspci:
Code:
02:01.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder (rev 05)
        Subsystem: pcHDTV pcHDTV HD3000 HDTV
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 10
        Memory at fb000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16M]
        Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data
Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2

02:01.2 Multimedia controller: Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder [MPEG Port] (rev 05)
        Subsystem: pcHDTV pcHDTV HD3000 HDTV
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 10
        Memory at fc000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16M]
Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2

But on a clean boot, nothing related to the card shows up in dmesg. Any idea what might be going on here? Thanks in advance!

It doesn't look like the cx88-dvb module got made correctly when you compiled your kernel, try deleting that module from the modules directory and from your kernel tree and do make modules && make modules_install to see if that fixes the issue.
