Hello all,
I've installed a pcHDTV card next to my PVR350 in my mythtv box. Needless to say, I'm having a few issues. The first seems like it may be easy to fix.

First, both the DVB and IVTV drivers try to load the pcHDTV and PVR350 as /dev/videoX devices. However, it's a crapshoot as to which one becomes video0 and video1 each time I reboot. I've moved the cx88-* modules above the ivtv modules in the modules.pcimap file, which may have worked, but is there something else I could put into modprobe.conf to keep them ordered?

Second, this may be a mythtv issue, or may be just a hardware issue. For some reason when watching WFXT 25 HD, Xorg suddenly starts using up 50% of the CPU and I start getting some frame and sound skipping. I don't get this for other HD channels. I have an AMD Sempron 2800+ w/ 1gb of ram.

Thirdly... anyone else have great success running a hauppauge card and pcHDTV card simulataneously? I've been searching google, but haven't found too much that's useful. I can switch tuners in Mythtv from PVR350 -> pcHDTV, but not back - ivtv locks up.

Thanks in advance!

Kip

I tried using the other drivers for the pcHDTV 5500 ( not the ones specified for FC5 ) and it works great now. Switches back and forth from tuners, etc.

Anyone know why they had different drivers for FC5?

Because FC5 was packaging 2.6.18 kernel code as a 2.6.17 kernel and it was messing up the kernel version checking code in the driver when building on FC5. The change was minor, there shouldn't be any difference in performance between the two.

EDIT: I take back the "no difference" comment, the FC5 code might have some more changes from the linuxtv V4L/DVB code tree that could cause differences.
