My setup:
Ubuntu 6.06 (drapper drake)
# uname -a
Linux myth 2.6.15-27-amd64-generic #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Sep 16 01:50:50 UTC 2006 x86_64 GNU/Linux

After installing the driver I run dtvscan but the channel numbers reported by dtvscan do not match channel numbers on my TV (HDTV). I also checked zap2it and for example dtvscan does not detect anything on channel 2 but zap2it and my TV show WGBH on this channel. I searched the output of dtvscan and WGBH shows on channel 19!

Initially I had PVR-350 working on this box with ivtv driver. I am not sure if this is relevant but I see still some ivtv messages in dmesg output (see below).

Sometimes I can also see the following in dmesg output after running dtvscan:

Code:
[ 4341.778943] tuner: tuner type not set

or
Code:
[ 6686.241364] dtvscan[8505]: segfault at 000000010057869f rip 0000000000401b98 rsp 00007ffffff9fa20 error 4

This does not happen every time though.

I need to fix this to make my mythtv work properly.

Here is additional info:
Code:

The new digital television signals are broadcast on different frequencies than the old analog television signals. For example, here in Washington, DC, WETA broadcasts its analog signal on channel 26 and its digital signal on channel 27. The local NBC station broadcasts its analog signal on channel 4 and its digital signal on channel 48. Because viewers are used to the old numbering system, stations often refer to their new digital channel programs using the old channel labels. WETA can broadcast up to four digital programs simultaneously, referring to them as 26.1, 26.2, 26.3 and 26.4. (See http://www.weta.org/tv/dtv/ ) But these designations are merely labels. They are actually broadcast on channel 27.

Yes. When I run mythtv-setup and scan for channels it actually reported channel 19 being discoverd but the channel that I can actually choose from the menu is 2-1 or 2-2 (don't remember). This is a bit confusing.

Thanks for your explenation.

Interesting Ivar, this might help me with my problem of channels not showing up as well.
