I have a pcHDTV 5500. Drivers are installed, and it works fine in xine.

Myth .20 was built with --enable-dvb. When I run mythtv-setup and try to install the card, I don't have an option for a dvb card (which the 5500 is). What gives?

Suse 10.1, btw.

No problem with it here. I'm on gentoo, however.

Can you post your config.log file from mythtv so we can compare?

I no longer have the 0.20 log.

I partially resolved this problem in 0.20. I downloaded the svn version of 0.20 and compiled it. This allowed me to see the dvb card screen, and I was able to add the card as a dvb.

When I run mythtv-setup, I can see my card when I add it as a capture card. It's a pcHDTV 5500, and I add it as a dvb card.

When I try to add an input connection, it sees the card there too, and the input (DVBInput). When I scan for channels, it says "Failed to open card."

My terminal output is this:

mythbox:/myth-svn/mythtv/database # mythtv-setup

What is "No device tree for cardid 1"????? This is under Suse 10.1. I am able to use the card flawlessly in xine.

----------------------------

That was posted to mythtvtalk with no responses. Sad

Since this post, I installed the released version of 0.19, and had no such problems. Any thoughts on why 0.20 has the issue, but not 0.19?

Usually when you get the "Failed To Open Card" message, It's because the card is opened by another application. With MythTV, it usually is the backend. Stop the backend before trying to configure any cards.

Yep, I've seen that before, too. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that mythbackend was not open. In fact, I tried dtvsignal ## on the card, and it opened fine and was detecting signal. Even xine worked.

I made sure both of those were closed before running mythtv-setup, as well....so that's not it Sad
