I can't get the xine-hd-lib package to compile. I get all kinds of errors no matter what I try. Here's the scenario:

1) Install FC5 with development tools and kernel-devel
2) yum update
3) extract xine-hd-.09
4) ./configure
5) make

result:
tons of errors

variant:
I tried it with gcc32 with slightly fewer errors

wild speculation:
I think it has something to do with XvMC

why don't I post the errors?:
See the above repro instructions.

Alternative suggested remedy:
The pcHDTV wake from their peaceful slumber and spec a working configuration.

I'm in about 30 hours on getting this hd-5500 working on the above configuration with no love.

Figured it out.

Here are the install steps.

1) Install FC5 with development tools and kernel-devel
2) yum update
3) yum install compat-gcc-32
4) configure the freshrpms repository
5) yum install xine-lib xine-lib-devel
6) extract xine-hd-.09 from pchdtv
7) go to the xine-hd-ui-0.99.2 folder of xine-hd
7) ./configure CC=gcc32
Cool make
9) make install
