The cx88-blackbird driver is not loading after upgrading from 2.6.19 to 2.6.20 (gentoo) of the kernel. I seem to be able to get dvb streams from the PCHDTV 5500 card but and wondering what I am missing and how to fix. Not sure if there is a new option in .config that I should be looking at. I have not seen anything yet. Any Help?

| None of the pchdtv cards use the cx88-blackbird driver. |

Really. I wonder how it loaded in 2.9.19? Is there a good place to find some documentation on what each of the drivers do, for my knowledge.
Thanks,

| It loads in 2.6.17 also, but doesn't do anything. The DVB wiki http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page has info on what the drivers do. The Blackbird is an MPEG encoder chip for NTSC (maybe PAL too) video; the 5500 doesn't have it (though I wonder if that's what the unpopulated spot on the card was for) |

Thanks for the answer. MPEG encoder for NTSC makes sense.
