Well I just received my 3000 card. Cant get any audio to work? I have had it only for 72 hours.

Also what is a good way to compress recordings in HD. How much space does a 30 min show take?

Thanks

A couple comments...make sure your sound card is supported under Linux. The built-in one on my MB was not supported and I added a Sound Blaster Live which was supported.

Then you have to figure which volume control slider to use. In the case of ATSC streams, use the PCM slider. No cabling is needed, the audio data is decoded from the ATSC stream. For NTSC broadcasts, you need to use the loopthrough 1/8" mini cable that came with the HD3000 to jumper from its audio output to your sound card line input. The use the line input slider to adjust the volume.

Hopefully that'll get you going,
