for some reason i have problems connecting to mythdatabase from the frontend, but it only happens sometimes. half the time i log in and start mythbackend by hand and then start mythfrontend with no problems. the other times i have troubles. i removed the startup script from "/etc/init.d", to make sure it's not starting before the drivers load. i'm going to try to delete and reload all of my channels and see if that helps, but in the mean time here's the output from mythbackend when i have problems:
Code:
me@mycomputer:~$ mythbackend

Hey electronikjunkie

I am dealing with a similar issue. What I did was copied a dmesg output for a succesfull startup and copied a dmesg output for a failed startup and compared. In my case there were only a couple of differences. One was related to the tuner card being assigned a different id from UDEV between startups. There is a lot of information on that at mysettopbox.tv.

What kind of error do you get when things don't work correctly?
