| I have a Ubuntu Gutsy amd64 box that I have installed the latest version of MythTV on. I installed the pcHDTV 5500 and the card was recognized by the OS and seemed to work fine. I installed dvb-utils and was able to scan and get channel info for Comcast in my area; however, when I open an application such as tvtime and attempt to view a cable channel, all I can see is a blue screen. I ran v4l-conf and it said something about "no overlay support." I attempted to compile the latest drivers and got an error. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be wrong? |

| It sounds as if it is a video card problem. What video card and driver are you using? |

| Ah yeah I have an onboard Intel 810 graphics chipset. I was running it with SiS but that was causing xine to lock up so I compiled a version of the i810 driver. |

I have a laptop with the same video chip. I tried to use it as a frontend, but it wouldn't display any HD video. All I got was a blue screen, although SD video from the digital tuner displayed OK.
You will need to get a video card, nVidia has good Linux support. |
