I'm building a new Mythbuntu system with an HD-5500 I just purchased. I can't get a channel scan to find anything in myth, and I get this output from dtvscan:

Myth detects that the card exists, but I can't get a signal from it. I have an old Mythbuntu system with a rev 1A card in it, so I swapped cards between systems. The new card works on the old system, but the old card does not work on the new system, which leads me to believe that I have some sort of configuration issue on the new system. I swapped the cards back. Here is the output of dmesg with the new rev 1B card:

Code:

I'm have a similar problem to the original poster. My pcHDTV card worked fine on my old Linux box, but stopped working when I upgraded to Mythbuntu 10.04 (using kernel 2.6.35-rc3). I can't scan any channels. My system actually has two tuner cards, one for regular cable (an Hauppage WinTV 34xxx model) and the pcHDTV 5500 connected to a digital OTA antenna. The WinTV tuner works just fine.

Whenever I try to tune using the pcHDTV, the following messages show up in dmesg:

Quote:

[ 454.493843] tuner-simple 0-0061: attempt to treat tuner 44 (Philips 4 in 1 (ATI TV Wonder Pro/Conexant)) as digital tuner without stepsize defined.
[ 454.993836] tuner-simple 0-0061: attempt to treat tuner 44 (Philips 4 in 1 (ATI TV Wonder Pro/Conexant)) as digital tuner without stepsize defined.
[ 455.493834] tuner-simple 0-0061: attempt to treat tuner 44 (Philips 4 in 1 (ATI TV Wonder Pro/Conexant)) as digital tuner without stepsize defined.
[ 455.993861] tuner-simple 0-0061: attempt to treat tuner 44 (Philips 4 in 1 (ATI TV Wonder Pro/Conexant)) as digital tuner without stepsize defined.

Google doesn't know much about this error message, maybe someone on here does? Maybe it has to do with both of my tuner cards trying to use the same tuner module? Just a wild guess.

Here's more info from dmesg:

[Fixed] HD-5500 No Signal OTA on Mythbuntu 10.04

I just thought I'd leave this in case someone else runs into the same issue. I just didn't have time to work on it for a couple of months. When I got back into the project, I installed all updates, and now everything works fine. I wish I knew exactly what fixed it, but if you run into this with fresh Mythbunutu 10.04, make sure you install all the updates.

Hi. I just purchased two of the same cards and was having trouble configuring them in mythbuntu. Could you tell me the settings you used to add your capture cards to the backend setup?

Thanks in advance.
