I am using Debian Sarge (2.6.11) kernel and compiled the 2.0 drivers. Everything appears to work, I can even use dtvsignal to verify signal strengths. However, my problem is when I go to the mythtv-setup program and type in /dev/video1 (I used to use /dev/video33 for the 1.6 drivers), I keep getting the message "No inputs found on card" and so I am not able to select "Tuner" as the default input for the HD3000 card. This renders the card unusable, anyone else had this problem?

I was looking through my system log and maybe this is the problem

I have a WinTV PCI card in the system as /dev/video0 using the bttv driver. Suggestions?

bob, this is my first post here (trying to start with an answer instead of a question).

I'm on FC3 (2.6.11smp), pcHDTV 2.0 drivers, mythtv 0.18 (from atrpms mythtv-suite). Looks to me like maybe you've got both the atsc and dvb drivers loading? I was unable to get the 2.0 atsc drivers to work with mythtv since they don't use /dev/video32 and up sockets which mythtv appearantly wants. But the dvb driver is working great.

What worked for me was to make sure FC3 doesn't try to load the atsc drivers by listing them in /etc/hotplug/blacklist. Then `modprobe cx88-dvb` which created /dev/dvb/adapter0 directory with several devices in it (I had to manually install the udev files since `make udev` didn't work for me). Then in mythtvsetup I added the capture device as a DVB card using the default device (dvb device 0?) *not* a pcHDTV and this worked for me.

Randy

PS - I'm in the Sacto., CA area and to get good playback/recording for FOX 40 (and better all around I think) I had to go into the Advanced Options -> Recording for the DVB Capture card and select use TS instead of PS option.

I was able to mythtv to recognize that the HD3000 has inputs now, however when I tried to record a show I could see the hard drive light flashing, but nothing was being recorded. The kernel log had some interesting messages

How were you able to get mythtv to recognize the HD3000? I'm having the same problem. Thanks!

I compiled the drivers and did "make install", then rebooted. I'm using debian so I also had to add "cx88-atsc" to my /etc/modules file.

I still can't get mythtv to recogize the HD3000 has a tuner. It will record and appears to work well, except that it cannot change channels. The other odd thing is that it will recogize the inputs for /dev/video2 and not for /dev/video1. I can still get dtvsignal to work in /dev/video1 but not /dev/video2.

I am considering trying the dvb driver as randytwo suggested. Are there any tools similar to dtvsignal that I could use? I like to take baby steps, make sure the driver is working first before I reconfigure mythtv.

It appears that (on my system), /dev/video1 is the NTSC tuner and /dev/video2 is the ATSC tuner. I can run both dtvsignal and dtvscan on /dev/video2 and everything works just like the 1.6 pcHDTV driver.

Has anyone else gotten this to work with mythtv 0.18? Specifically, has someone put /dev/video2 into the mythtv-setup program and gotten good results? Is everyone using the DVB drivers instead of the v4l drivers?
